The Residential and Intensive Courses are offered in 3-day, 5-day, 2-week, six months- one year formats of direct guidance in

- Advanced Brief Strategic Therapy

- Communication and Strategic Problem Solving

This approach devised by Giorgio Nardone is the most innovative result of the meeting between the tradition of brief systemic-strategic therapy of Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto and the technical solutions created by Milton Erikson in the context of the so-called hypnosis without trance.

The clinical research and practice carried out during the last ten years by the C.T.S. of Arezzo has produced significant enhancement in the efficiency and effectiveness of therapeutic intervention. These Courses offer to trainee the opportunity to engage themselves in the ever more effective, repeatable and transmittable advanced models of brief strategic psychotherapy.

The trainees will be introduced to the original protocols and advanced models of treatment, developed through clinical experiments for strategic interventions on specific clinical problems, such as:

- Phobias,
- Obsessive-compulsive disorders,
- Panic attacks,
- Depression,
- Hypochondria,
- Paranoia,
- Eating disorders,
- Family problems,
- Marital/Couple conflicts,
- Relational problems and others.

The Intensive Courses ( 3-day, 5-day, 2-week ) are held in groups or individually. Participants are closely guided through out the first stage of the program by an English-speaking trainer/lecturer, the psychologist Dott.ssa Claudette Portelli, under the supervision of Prof. Nardone.
Obviously all live cases, followed from the observation room, are in Italian but simultaneous translation and case-explanation are carried out in English.
For Residential courses ( 6-months and 1-year ), the participants need to understand Italian language, to be able to follow live cases observations, lectures and other activities organized by the Center.

TUITION PROGRAM

- Overview of Advanced Brief Strategic Therapy.
- Introduction to Specific Protocols and Advanced Models of Strategic Treatment.
- Guided Study of Videotapes of Clinical Cases (Cases are chosen to fit particular interests of participants).
- Observation of Live Cases treated by Professor G. Nardone.
- Individualized Case Consultation.
- Final Encounter with Professor Nardone for expert advice on the management of cases, using the CTS model.
- Certificate of completion of training.

* The Residential and Intensive Course Schedule can be modified and tailored to suit particular interests of participants.


DATES

* Intensive Courses ( 3-day, 5-day, 2-week ) are held on the last week of every month (except in August and December). Since each intensive course is limited to a certain number of participants, we request that you communicate us your preferred dates at least a month in advance. This will give us enough time to plan together (even on-line), a personalized program that best meets your needs and interests.

** Residential Courses
( six months- one year ) are held five days a week of training (lessons, videotapes of real cases study, direct observation of clinical sessions and, of course, discussions on them) under the supervision of Prof. Nardone.
