The
family, in spite of the attacks received during the years of the social
protest and the consequent transformations, have still held out, it
is still the fundamental structure of our society. It is an organization
with rules protecting and allowing children to grow, rules that sometimes
become too strict, or no longer adapted to a familiar situation in evolution.
All the parents and the children know it: this is the risk of the family,
to become a closed organization whose mechanisms they do not succeed
to change anymore. The relations look like a disc that gets stuck, that
produces the same sound endlessly.
In this book Giorgio Nardone - the famous therapist and Italian expert
of brief strategic therapy - has summarized together with his collaborators
the work of years of research-intervention in a series of familiar organization
outlines.
The parents and the children will be able to find the description of
six exemplary models of familiar groups - overprotective, democratic-permissive,
sacrificing, intermittent, delegating, authoritarian - those that more
often recur in the current panorama and that in recent years emerge
like responsible of the formation of problematic nodes inside the Italian
family: the theoretical descriptions are always followed by clinical
stories illustrating the models.
The solution strategies are simple and clear, the therapy very fast,
the reported examples perfectly illustrate the formation of negative
mechanisms and their solution in consequence of the therapy.
The result is a clear photography of the recent situation but above
all a series of amazing and brilliant solution strategies that succeed
to deceive the resistance to the change of the families, therefore succeeding
in breaking those rigid models formed during a lot of years of protection
and closing.
